Local Ministries and Outreach

At Bodega Bay Church we believe that ministry and outreach to those in our community is of utmost importance.  Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” In response to these words, we are involved in the following local ministries.

  • We have a long tradition of supporting the annual Bodega Bay Fisherman’s Festival, including our church pastor’s prayer of blessing for the fleet during the annual boat parade.

  • The Sea Scouts meet at the church most Mondays 7:00-8:00 pm.
Call the church office to confirm the date and time.   Visit about.com to learn more about Sea Scouts.

  • We support our local Bible camp, Mt. Gilead Bible Camp and Conference Center.

  • We support a missionary working in the rural area of California. His ministry is in starting and supporting Sunday Schools in a multiple-county area.
  • For several decades, our church has had an outreach for local needy people.  The help is usually in supplying needy people with food or gasoline, although we will occasionally help with other needs if the funds are available. We are able to help several dozen people each year.  The funds for this ministry are not only from our own giving, but a generous amount is given by the local people in the Bodega Bay community.  Each year, some of the funds from the the Fisherman's Festival are given to the church for this purpose.
